Hilda Reimer, a long-time resident on Raven, creates unique wares from atypical ingredients she cultivates from her acreage. A favourite is ‘Rose Jam’ made from her wild roses – great on toast, a baguette, ice cream, and even in tea. 

How about ‘Fireweed Jelly’? Supplied by Mother Nature and transformed by Hilda into a jewel-like sweet. 

The Reimers also grow grapes but have learned that it’s necessary to encase the clusters in a metal mesh bag if they want to enjoy the fruit. Otherwise, the chipmunks always seem to know when the grapes are a day away from being ready.
