Dean Stevenson

After living in Oliver for 20 years, Dean and his spouse Cindy decided to leave the big city and move to the mountain. Being originally from Canmore, they love the outdoor actitivities that are so abundant in all four seasons here in the Okanagan. Dean worked for FortisBC and its precdecessors for 26 years before retiring in 2018 from his role as Director OH&S and Technical Training. Cindy retired in 2017 after 30 years of teaching is still a TOC for SD53.
Dean looks forward to contributing to the community and creating new friendships along the way.
Wendy Shah
VICE PRESIDENT
Apart from the gorgeous location on the mountain and the proximity to one of the most outstanding valleys in Canada, it’s the vibrant, supportive Anarchist Mountain community that Wendy loves. Since 2020, she has played an active role in development projects and maintenance of the Jamie Soule Memorial Park. As a Registered Dietitian, she readily volunteered as the Food Coordinator at the Anarchist Mountain firehall during the 2021 wildfire. Wendy has been the recipient of numerous Neighbourhood Small Grants for events and projects that have helped beautify the community, strengthen neighbourhood connections, and raise money for the Anarchist Mountain Fire Rescue Society.
Wendy still has professional projects on the go, but makes time for her passions - baking, music, outdoor activities, fun with neighbours, and maintaining connections with family and friends.
Sandra Newfield
Treasurer
Sandra and her husband Ard moved to Anarchist Mountain in 2017, leaving the coastal rains behind for the Okanagan sunshine. After working in the BC Ministry of Finance for 20 years, Sandra thought getting involved with volunteer activities to keep using her accounting skills would be a great way to give back. She and her husband enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and exploring the area’s back roads and wineries. With great restaurants, year round sports and venues like the Venables Theatre on our doorstep life in the south Okanagan is good.
