JAMIE SOULE MEMORIAL PARK
Jamie Soule, a longtime resident of the area, was a large part of the community and played an integral role with the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department (AMFD) as Deputy Chief.
The community felt it would be fitting that a memorial be built in honour of Jamie who passed away in January 2019. As such, Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) land, zoned for park purposes in our community, was upgraded for recreational use and officially named after Jamie in his honour.
The park is used for AMCS events and as a place for neighbours to meetup with each other to enjoy the natural surroundings. It also serves as a community memorial for all residents who have lived in the area and are no longer with us. With RDOS funding, the park is gradually developing and now includes a permanent outhouse, woodshed, parking lot, and band shell/pavillion. Community grants and private donations in memoriam have funded the picnic tables and benches.
