If you go out in the garden today, who will you find sharing your produce?  Every creature up on Anarchist Mountain wants a share from the quail, marmots, ground squirrels, insects and those master pruners -  the Mule Deer.  

Fencing when done properly will keep your garden safe from most pests but if you have been visited by the Sphinx moth - look out.  These large hawk moths produce even larger caterpillars that can devour a tomato plant overnight.  The  moth can have a wingspan of 4 inches and be mistaken for a Hummingbird.  They can fly at up to 30mph and the caterpillar or tomato hornworm is big enough to be mistaken for a large stem..  It is tempting to put a leash on one and take it for a walk but a bucket of soapy water is a better solution to save your garden from annihilation.  When caught in time the plant will recover and hopefully produce lots of fruit.
