Wapiti Pit Opening Soon

With the warmer temperatures this spring many residents have starting their FireSmarting projects. The FireSmart Committee is waiting for the pit and road to fully dry and plan to open the pit on SundayApril 12 and Sunday April 26 from 10AM to noon as usual.

The FireSmart committee would like to thank the Osoyoos Indian Band for their generosity in allowing Anarchist Mountain residents to use Wapiti Pit this year.

The FireSmart committee is making a few changes in how the pit is managed. Access to the pit must be under the supervision of a member of the FireSmart committee. The pit will remain a free service to our community except there will be a fee to open the pit on non-scheduled days. The FireSmart committee has prepared an Operating Policy which has been approved by OIB. Please take a moment to review the Wapiti Pit Operating Policy.
