BBQ on the Mountain History

The Annual BBQ on the Mountain was first held during the second week of July in 2008. The date was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 Okanagan Complex Fire in which a couple of structures were lost on the mountain and was the catalyst that drove the formation of the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department. 

The BBQ is always on the second Saturday in July and was first held at the previously-named “Sasquatch Park”, then later at the Summit Centre and eventually ended up at the AMFD Firehall.

We are excited to return the Annual BBQ to its original location at Jamie Soule Memorial Park on July 12th from 5-8pm. We’ll be serving up brisket and fixins plus a vegetarian option.
