Wapiti Pit Schedule for 2025
Anarchist Mountain residents are encouraged to drop off their FireSmart waste at Wapiti Pit.
This is a FireSmart volunteer run initiative made possible with the generous permission of Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB).
Residents must check-in with the gate attendant; sign a waiver and also report their volunteer hours which we track to maintain our status as a FireSmart Community. The road into the pit is narrow so please keep to the right and take care passing oncoming traffic. Please follow the instructions of the pit attendants when entering the pit.
There is no equipment on site so all yard waste must be unloaded by hand and piled high to maximize the space in the pit. Loads must not be dumped into the pit from the edge above. Commercial loads and large tree stumps may be accepted; but only with pre-approval from the Anarchist Mountain FireSmart Committee and the Fire Chief.
