We’ve started a new tradition! The acknowledgement of residents who have contributed time, energy, and commitment to making our community strong and vibrant. We had some catching up to do, so this year we celebrated three volunteers – Greg Anderson, Rudy Reimer, and Wendy Richmond. Their dedication and contributions to our community are highlighted below.

Greg Anderson
Just when a huge project came along requiring a certain expertise, guess who showed up? We are so fortunate that Greg stepped up when the JSMP pavilion project became a reality. Greg’s background as a construction Project Manager aligned perfectly with undertaking this project. His knowledge, experience, perseverance, and calm demeanor were crucial in giving the AMCS the confidence to take on this endeavour. The RDOS and contractors were likely also relieved that they were working with someone who knew what he was doing. Greg devoted countless volunteer hours to this project – attending meetings, designing, procuring, purchasing, delivering, carpentry, and landscaping are all in the volunteer logs for Greg. With the pavilion project successfully completed, Greg has offered to continue providing his expertise and time for future AMCS construction projects.

Rudy Reimer
Rudy has been volunteering for the AMCS for over a decade. Some of his efforts are visible and enjoyed by all such as the two beautiful benches that overlook the pond that he and his wife Hilda built and maintain. Some of Rudy’s volunteer work isn’t as obvious, such as help with the wiring of the park pavilion. Rudy is always ready to lend a hand and elbow grease. You’ll find him raking, digging, cleaning, cooking, or sharing his ideas for new projects or community events. Suffice it to say, Rudy has no plans to quit contributing to his mountain community any time soon. His next project is to construct a horseshoe pit at the park.

Wendy Richmond
For the past few years, Wendy has been quietly ‘getting the word out’ for the AMCS. She has managed the website and updates, published our newsletters, and coddled new board members who have needed help with the basics. Wendy’s patience is extraordinary! She always goes the extra mile to ensure that we’re communicating effectively with the community. We are thrilled that she will continue in this role for the AMCS.
Each recipient was presented with a plaque at the Music on the Mountain event. They also received a gorgeous, personalized gift created by Jennine Lewis. Jennine was previously an Anarchist Mountain resident and a past AMCS president. She is the proud owner of the Quirky Quail business in Osoyoos.
